By their first two releases, Anacrusis has proven their worth, and their third studio album, Manic Impressions, is considered by many their best effort. I believe this is when Anacrusis finally formed their signature sound, and not that many can do that. Only a few like Testament, Voivod, and Atrophy come to mind when you think of a 'signature sound'. Released in 1991, this album showcases the band's unique blend of thrash and technicality.

Overall, Anacrusis' Manic Impressions is definitely a must-listen. Despite the album's 'nails on a chalkboard '-like production, the album's technical skill, emotional depth, and thought-provoking and dark-natured lyrics make it a standout in the technical thrash genre.
