Within the black metal scene of Belgium. Enthroned is the best band to come out of the country in my eyes. The band's early work is filled with tons of killer 90s-style black metal. That for some reason doesn’t get as much attention or high praise as many other classic bands get. And I don’t understand it. This band is as evil as it gets. Especially on their debut album “Prophecies of Pagan Fire”. Which is my personal favorite album from this band.

This album has everything you would expect from an old-school 90s black metal release. It’s fast, twisted, melodic, and repetitive. All things that give this style of music its charm. This album is an aggressive 53-minute journey into the depths of hell. It’s got a very evil atmosphere that makes this music feel like you're in a trance. The album has aggressive aspects but it also has slower movements. Adding to the overall texture. This is a record that is completely influenced by the classic Norwegian/Scandinavian black scene. However, it still manages to stand out amongst the pack.
