Death metal from the golden age simply does not get any better than this. Where Vader’s - The Ultimate Incantation had the blazing speed and Necrophobic's - The Nocturnal Silence the dark & sinister lyrics / atmosphere, this gem has both. I’m dumbfounded why nobody has reviewed this album yet. It was released on a legendary label namely Necropolis Records, has killer artwork that exemplifies the 90's era done by none other than the mighty Necrolord and packs a brutal punch from beginning to end. My only guess is the release date, 1999, which almost signalled the end of the Swedish domination of death metal. Had this been released 6 years earlier it would have been a household name in the underground?
All the Swedish signature trademark styles are found on this album from the intricately woven melodies to the all-out blasting death metal rhythm sections underlined by a very strong thrash vibe and upbeat drumming. It all comes together effortlessly on the album which clocks in at just under 38 minutes. Most headbangers will single out track #3 - Reaper In Black as the best anthem on here but let me tell you Spawned To Crush, Forever Blasphemy & When The Vultures Left are the highlights no doubt. When the Swedes get it right, my fuck do they get it right.
