MENTAL CRUELTY – Echoes Of A Forlorn Land LP (Bloodlust Transparent Red)

Housed in a single jacket with a 4-panel LP booklet.

Overall, Echoes of a Forlorn Land is a significant milestone for the subgenre as a whole and, in turn, a major moment in Mental Cruelty‘s career. With the album’s impending release, we finally see signs of life within a style that has long felt stagnant due to bands continually copying whatever the genre’s biggest names, such as Lorna Shore, are doing, with few elements to differentiate themselves from one another. While Mental Cruelty undoubtedly still have some way to go before reaching the head of the pack, Echoes of a Forlorn Land is a refreshing change of pace. If the band continues to refine their craft, we may finally see Mental Cruelty fulfill their ambitions of becoming the most prominent band within blackened deathcore.
